Often times we see people for the first time, or maybe they've been patients for a long time, that they've noticed that things are changing in their mouth. Their teeth are wearing down, their teeth are getting discolored, they notice little chips here, they're getting some jaw pain and some clicking and popping in their jaw. I tend to have a sit down with that patient, say, 'Listen, let's really do some studying of what's going on with your bite. Let's go on to figure out why is this happening.' Once we can figure out why is it happening, then we can tailor a treatment plan that would allow for the patient to have a much more stable, functional, and aesthetic result for long term.
We can do things with crowns and veneers, or Invisalign, or just a simple adjusting of the bite that will allow for the patient to feel better about themselves. Often times we have patients that come in, and they didn't even realize that they had jaw pain, and they didn't realize there's a tightness there, or they didn't realize that they constantly get headaches.
