What are All-On-4 Implants?
All-on-4 vs. Traditional Implants
In a traditional dental implant procedure, patients typically need to make three or more visits over a period of 6 to 9 months. The process involves removing the affected tooth, placing the dental implant, attaching the restoration site, and finally attaching the permanent crown. There can be a healing period of 2 weeks to 3 months between each visit.
On the other hand, All-on-4 streamlines the process by allowing the dental implant and restoration to be placed in a single visit. This efficiency is made possible by using 3D CT Scan planning software to carefully plan the implant placement and surgery. Patients experience minimal healing time and receive their restorations immediately.
How Does It Work?
The All-on-4 implant process starts with an initial consultation with Dr. Groth, where he will assess your oral health, medical history, and oral structures to determine if you are a suitable candidate for the treatment. Once approved, X-rays will be taken and a detailed surgical plan will be created using advanced 3D CT Scan Planning software.
On the day of surgery, the implant specialist will numb the implant sites with anesthesia before placing 4 (or more) titanium implants into your jaw. Dr. Groth will then immediately attach a temporary restoration for you to wear during the healing process. Once the implants have fused with the jawbone, Dr. Groth will provide a customized, permanent restoration to give you a beautiful, natural-looking smile.
Benefits Of All-On-4
- Efficiency of the procedure - patients can leave our office with a newly restored smile in just one visit, with the surgery taking approximately 2.5 hours per arch. Imagine a full, new smile in under 3 hours!
- Less bone required – the 3D scanning system identifies areas of the jaw that can support implants, making it possible for patients with low bone mass to undergo the procedure without needing a bone graft.
- Restores natural function of the teeth and jaw – implants act as tooth roots, allowing for normal eating and speaking with confidence.
- Restores the shape of your face – implants prevent jawbone shrinkage, preserving your face shape in the long run.
- Restores your confidence – permanent and secure prosthetic teeth boost patients' self-confidence.
- More convenient than other options – no messy adhesive creams or poorly fitting bridgework to deal with.
